In 48 hours, Ukraine will close its border for foreigners for two weeks. Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will warn all the institutions and all countries that the border of Ukraine will be closed for two weeks. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danylov reported this at the briefing.
The National Security and Defense Council is holding a meeting to discuss the issue of preventing the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine.
In particular, the issue of closing the borders of Ukraine and terminating communication with some countries with coronavirus outbreak is being considered.
Oleksiy Danylov noted that in two weeks, the NSDC will take a new decision on closing the borders, but taking into account the current situation in the country.
The Secretary also stated that the government strongly asked Ukrainian citizens to limit their travels abroad, and those Ukrainians who are currently abroad will be able to return home but will undergo an observation procedure upon their return.
According to Danylov, all the checkpoints in a week will be provided with express tests to detect the coronavirus.
Earlier, on March 12, two new cases of Covid-2019 were registered in Ukraine. Both patients were isolated.
