Ukrainians marks the Day of Armed Forces on December 6.
The holiday was established on the day of the adoption of the law “On the Armed Forces of Ukraine” in 1991 and has been celebrated annually since then.
This document created a mechanism of formation of army from the military units that remained in Ukraine after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

According to the agency, Ukraine’s military budget is $4,88 billion, 1,1 million people of personnel, 2214 tanks, 240 warplanes, 29 of which are fighter aircraft, and 25 naval vessels – all these made Ukraine reach the 10th place in the rating. Greece appeared on the 9th place – it has half as much of tanks and personnel, yet it possesses 189 fighter aircraft and military budget $6,5 billion.
