Ukraine can reduce gas consumption by 5 billion cubic meters, - PM

The Government intends to reduce gas consumption till 2022

Gas consumption in Ukraine reduced by 6 billion cubic meters over the last three years. Still, the state can continue the decreasing process and reduce gas consumption by 5 billion cubic meters, as Volodymyr Groysman, Ukraine’s PM, wrote on his Facebook page.

This point is to be reached till 2022.

“We plan to reduce it to 13 billion cubic meters in 2022. Ukraine can reduce gas consumption by 5 billion cubic meters,” Groysman said

According to the data, Ukraine consumed 24 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014 and 18 billion in 2017.

The PM added that the renewable energy sector is developing, the introduction of the rooftop photovoltaics in particular. There were 21 such households in Ukraine in 2015 and 3010 – at the end of 2017.
