The cyclone that came to Ukraine from the west will continue to bring snow in the majority of the regions on Tuesday, February 9. Thus, it is snowing in 14 regions as of morning; rain with snow observed in two regions; while it is raining in six regions. The restrictions are introduced for traffic in seven regions as Ukravtodor (State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine) reported.

“The snow cyclone, which entered Ukraine on February 7 and covered the whole territory of the country on February 8, has created difficult weather conditions in the majority of the regions that are characterized with the heavy snowfalls, snowstorms, icy rains with temperature below zero, snowdrifts,” the message said.

Thus, since the beginning of the cyclone, the most snow (up to 30 cm) fell in Volyn, Lviv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv regions.

As of morning February 9, significant snow is observed in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne, Khmelnytsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions with the temperature of 10 degrees below zero. Rain with snow is observed in Zakarpattia and Kirovohrad regions.

It is raining in Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhia regions with a temperature of three degrees above zero; icy rains observed in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions with the temperature of seven degrees below zero.

“Due to the difficult weather conditions in particular regions, the restrictions are introduced for movement of large seize vehicles,” the message said. The issue is about Volyn, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions and Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.

According to the National Police, due to the introduced restrictions, over 3,000 large seize vehicles stay along the roads.

In Ukraine, the weather conditions have deteriorated. As we reported, amid the bad weather, the airports of Lviv and Odesa canceled some flights. A number of flights will arrive in Ukraine with a delay.

Earlier, it was stated that on February 8, heavy snowfalls expected all over Ukraine.

Today, snow is expected in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. In Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, Kyrovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, the west snow with rain will occur with the ice-slick formation on the roads.
