Ukraine agrees to lift moratorium on exhumation for Poland

Relations between the countries deteriorated when Ukraine introduced the ban because a memorial to Ukrainian Insurgent Army was taken down in Poland

In the context of the meeting of the Consultative Committee of presidents of Ukraine and Poland, Kostyantyn Elyseev, the Deputy Head of Ukrainian Presidential Administration, met Krzysztof Szczerski, the Chief of the Cabinet of the President of Poland. The meeting was held in Krakow, the press service of Ukraine’s President informs

The parties agreed that it’s necessary to lift the moratorium on the exhumation of Poles in Ukraine. A meeting of the Vice Prime Ministers on this issue was scheduled for the near future.

The parties also discussed their views on bilateral relations. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland.
