Ukraine has successfully finished the talks on the increase of the supplies of the American NovaVax vaccine against coronavirus. Thus, it was possible to agree about the supply of extra 5 million doses of the vaccine as Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov reported.
“More positive news from Indian Pune and the largest in the world producer of vaccines Serum Institute. We successfully finished talks on the increase of supplies in Ukraine of the American NovaVax vaccine. We got the confirmation of the possibility of the supply of extra 5 million doses of the vaccine of this producer. We approve the agreement by the contract’s signing,” Stepanov wrote.
In general, Ukraine expects 15 million doses of vaccine from coronavirus produced by American NovaVax Company.
The supply of this vaccine is planned from July 2021.
The Health Ministry reported that the vaccination in Ukraine should start on February 15. However, on February 16, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that the vaccination did not start in a term due to logistic issues.
Stepanov assured that until the end of the week Ukraine would get AstraZeneca vaccine. On February 19, the Health Minister departed to India to hold talks with the Serum Institute.
Yesterday, the Health Minister reported that in India, the first 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca-CoviShield vaccine have started their way to Ukraine.
Today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the efficacy level of CoviShield, calling its one of the best vaccines.
