The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with the Speaker of the Knesset of Israel Julius Edelstein, on Wednesday, November 23 to discuss deepening cooperation among our countries in economic sphere and the tragedy of Holodomor and Babi Yar, reports the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"We are interested that the business of Israel has an office in Ukraine ... Many spheres in Ukraine may be interested in Israel’s achievements, technologies ... The strategic cooperation between our countries is very important. I would like us to fully use our opportunities to develop our bilateral cooperation," Groysman said.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the preparation will be over and we will sign the agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Israel by the end of the next year.
The parties discussed the possibility of recognition the Holodomor of 1932-33 as an act of genocide against Ukrainian people by Knesset.
"It does not concern any other country, this concerns Ukraine and Ukrainians. It was a man-made tragedy, that took lives of innocent people," Groysman said.
The interlocutors also discussed the establishment of a large museum-memorial on the 80th anniversary of Babi Yar.
Earlier it was reported that Canada started implementing free trade area with Ukraine. The country’s government submitted respective bill at the federal parliament.
