The Concern of Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television switched off the broadcasting of UA:First, the national television channel in Ukraine, because of debts, as Zurab Alasania, the Head of National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA:PBC), wrote on Facebook.
“The state Concern of Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communications and Television switched off the broadcasting of UA:First (for state’s debts to the state),” he wrote.
Earlier, the UA:PBC received many statements on the lack of funding of the national broadcasting in 2018. In particular, a plan of crisis contingency of the TV and radio company was published on Suspilne website. The press office explained that the board of the UA:PBC had to take contingency measures due to a total underfunding of the company and shortage of funds which threatens the operation of the TV and radio company and a possibility of the broadcasting of all the TV and radio channels.
