“Today’s TCG meeting can become crucial in the Minsk process. It also can be not crucial, but a slight chance exists. Today, two “Minsk long-livers” left the process, moderator of political task group Ambassador Pierre Morel (seven years in the process) and moderator of humanitarian task group Ambassador Toni Frish (six years in the process),” Harmash reported.
According to him, the European diplomats at the TCG tried to internalize the occupied Donbas as “delegations” or “side” of the conflict. At parting, Ambassador Frish wished all the best to “the citizens of Donbas”, while Morel called the representatives of occupied Donbas from Russia – “heads of delegations”.
“Anyway, these people left and we have the chance that new moderators will be ruled in the diplomatic process by documents, not “traditions,” Harmash expressed hope.
As we reported, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ann Linde stated that the conflict in Donbas is one of the largest threats to European security
