Two officials detained under suspicion of taking bribery in sum of $936,581, - Prosecutor General

The law enforcers have detained two officials of “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” under suspicion of taking bribes in the sum of $936,581, as Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko reported on Facebook.

According to him, the officials have established the scheme of getting 10% of payoff for the state order.

“It was revelaed in the case, that in September-December, the head of the Mechanic-Energy Department of “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” V. Nikitin and Director on Gas Preparation and Transporting O. Gordienko got $611, 318,” Lutsenko wrote.

The Prosecutor General emphasized that the officials were detained during the receiving of another tranche in the sum of $326,714.

“The attempt to throw the piles of money out of window will not influence the investigation. We will also take into account the Land Cruiser presented to the official,” he noted.

Lutsenko added that the work of the officers of the Security Service, Prosecutor General’s Office and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office was held in the cooperation with Head of “Naftogaz-Ukraine” Andriy Kobolev.

As we reported, the former owner of “Standart” Bank, suspected in the embezzlement of funds of the financial establishment was put on the international wanted list.
