Two MPs offer to cancel decision on imposing sanctions on Ukraine's TV channels

Representatives of "Opposition Bloc" registered a draft resolution on the cancellation of the parliament's decision on imposing sanctions against 112 Ukraine and NewsOne TV channels

Representatives of "Opposition Bloc" Oleksandr Vilkul and Nestor Shufrych registered a draft resolution #9157-p in the Verkhovna Rada on the cancellation of the parliament's decision on the sanctions against some TV channels.

In the explanatory note, they stated that the draft resolution #9157 "On approval of the offers on the imposing of the personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)" was approved with the violations of the regulation requirements, particularly in the fact who should register the legislative act in the parliament on the results of the analysis of the petition. Moreover, they drew attention that according to the text of the resolution, there were the comments on some particular MPs.

The staff of 112 Ukraine TV channel insists that the steps made by the Ukrainian Parliament, which aim to apply sanctions against 112 Ukraine TV channel are nothing but a political decision; there is not enough evidence to make such decision, which badly lacks argumentation and may be considered unconstitutional.
