Two Russian journalists coming to Ukraine to cover Eurovision contest were prohibited entry today. This was reported by Oleh Slobodyan, the speaker of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on Facebook page.

The reason for the decision was their visit in earlier occupied Crimea through illegal checkpoints.

"Ukrainian State Border Guard Service did not allow two more Russian journalists to cross the border and prohibited entry for 3 years, as they violated Ukrainian law and visited temporarily occupied Crimea through temporarily closed checkpoints. State Border Guard Service notes that the presence of accreditation for Eurovision is not a document providing the right to cross the border. State Border Guard Service along with Security Service of Ukraine and National Police are guided solely by the interests and legislation of Ukraine," Slobodyan wrote.

As it was reported, photo correspondent Ramil Sitdikov from Rossiya Segodnya news agency was also denied entry into Ukraine earlier. Visiting annexed peninsula also became the reason for that decision.
