22 criminal cases on the state treason were submitted to the courts in Ukraine in 2017 as the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported to 112.ua.

Totally, 97 cases of this crime were registered in 2017. Eight of them were closed, 10 were stopped due to the fact that the location of the suspect was unknown. 25 persons accused of the state treason were determined upon the finishing of the criminal proceedings.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) registered 65 criminal cases, 17 of them were submitted to the courts.

The Prosecutor General's Office does not possess the information on the court decision in these cases.

One of the suspects in the state treason in Ukraine is Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine whose case is considered by the Obolon District Court. Yanukovych does not plead guilty and does not attend the court hearing as he is in Russia.
