As a result of shooting in Dnipro city on Monday evening of July 24, two participants of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas were killed. Also, a well-known lawyer, defender of the injured in the clashes on May 9 Edomond Saakyan, was injured. This was reported by the local Dniprograd agency.
According to the doctors, after the surgery, Saakyan's condition has stabilized, his life is not under the threat. ATO veteran Oleksiy Vahner also received numerous injuries in the shooting. He served in the 20th Separate Battalion of the 93 Motorized Infantry Brigade together with Saakyan and was injured during the attack of "titushky" in Dnipro city on May 9.
According to the Mechnikov hospital responsible Yaroslav Medvedyk, Vahner was brought in a very serious condition, with great blood loss. He died while doctors were trying to provide him medical help," the report said.
The man who died in the shooting from a bullet wound in the head, according to unconfirmed reports, is a former soldier of the 11th Battalion of the 59th Brigade with the call sign ‘Pike’.
It is noted that the shooters disappeared from the crime scene on white Toyota car. On the same car, one of the attackers came to Mechnikov hospital for medical help, where he was detained. Now near the intensive surgery room where Sahakyan was taken his ATO comrades are on duty.
As the Strana.ua. writes with reference to the police, shooters are people who came to a meeting with the well-known lawyer, human rights activist and ATO veteran Edmond Saakyan and his brother.
"There was also information that wounded Saakyan managed to shoot several times and injured one of the attackers," the agency writes.
As it was reported earlier shootout occurred in Dnipro city center: one man was killed and five got wounded. Offenders ran away from the scene.
