Two border guards abducted by Russia return to Ukraine

The return of two Ukrainian border guards Ihor Dziubak and Bohdan Martson took place at the neutral part of the Ukrainian-Russian state border near Goptivka checkpoint, Kharkiv region on March 2. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

According to Iryna Gerashchenko, the Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, the Ukrainians will be in Kyiv in a few hours.

‘The SBU and State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported to President Poroshenko that our two border guards Ihor Dziubak and Bohdan Martson kidnapped by the FSB last years returned to Ukraine. I congratulate mothers, wives, children, families of our hostages. We are happy that you will be in Kyiv in a few hours’, she claimed.

In its turn, Ukraine transferred Vladimir Kuznetsov and Askar Kuluba, the soldiers of FSB Border Guard Service detained in 2017 in Kherson region to the Russian side.

As it was reported earlier two employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine disappeared in October, in Sumy region near the border with Russia.

Russia officially confirmed the detention of two officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine that earlier disappeared near the border with Russia.

Also, Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine announced that two hostages illegally kept in Russia will be returned to Ukraine by the end of this week. Later it was reported that the issue is about two border guards.
