Turchynov says he is no longer NSDC Secretary

Oleksandr Turchynov reminded that he does not serve as the Secretary of National Defence and Security Council of Ukraine, as he wrote on Facebook commenting on information which appeared on media.

“Lately some media distribute information that allegedly I still hold the post of NSDC Secretary. I remind you that on May 17 I appealed to the President with a letter of resignation, and on May 19 the respective decree was signed,” Turchynov noted.

Therefore, since the President’s decree on “Resignation of Turchynov from the post of the Secretary of National Defence and Security Council of Ukraine”, he no longer hold this post.

“The statement that allegedly I serve as NSDC Secretary is nonsense which is not true and contradicts the Ukrainian legislation,” Turchynov noted.

Turchynov officially resigned on May 17

Oleksandr Turchynov held the post since December 2014. Before he worked in the Verkhovna Rada, he was Acting President of Ukraine in spring, 2014.
