U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin met on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Osaka. U.S. leader raised the issue of Ukrainian sailors kept in a Russian prison. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as Interfax agency reported.
“This topic was touched upon, it was raised by President Trump,” Peskov said.
According to him, Putin gave the U.S. President "all the necessary explanations concerning Ukrainian sailors" detained by the Russian authorities in the Kerch Strait last year.
As it was reported earlier, European Council reminded Russia about MH17, Ukrainian sailors and Russian passports given to Donbas reidents. The European Council reminded Russia that it needs to release the Ukrainian sailors.
