According to him, the issue of opening the General Prosecutor’s Office of criminal proceedings on the appeal of the MPs of the political force Petro Poroshenko regarding his actions as head of the State Bureau of Investigation has two components: political and legal.
Evaluating the first component, he said that this was expected, because "this is personal – Petro Poroshenko wants revenge for the professional work carried out by the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation in 13 criminal proceedings, in which he is a participant."
As for the second component, Petro Poroshenko “needs to overlap the evidence obtained during the investigation with a political map”: “To question the objectivity of the leader’s actions, than to discount the results of the SBI. It is with this message that he will go to European politicians - this is his only protection,” Roman Truba noted.
He also drew attention to the fact that criminal proceedings were opened regarding reports of fake audio recordings. In his opinion, there are no prospects there.
“But the main question arises: who ordered and installed a wiretap in the director’s office of the State Bureau of Investigation because this event was the reason for creating fake records? Who is the author of this script? It is important to formally receive answers to these criminal proceedings,” he said.
At the same time, Roman Truba noted that with the legal part opened against him, the proceedings are simple - after all, entering information into the single register of pre-trial investigations is not something unusual. All appeals, statements should be checked in the framework of open criminal proceedings.
The former head of the SBI is ready to cooperate with law enforcement and give answers to all their questions.
