The trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and EU on the transit of the Russian gas through Ukrainian territory will take place on December 19 in Brussels as Vice President of European Commission Maroš Šefčovič reported on Twitter.
“Looking forward to the next round of Trilateral Gas Talks at the political level this Thursday 19 December,” he wrote.
According to Šefčovič, it is time to send a positive message to markets and consumers.
On December 13, Executive Director of Naftogaz Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko announced the achievement of preliminary agreements with Gazprom on the extension of gas transit. He added that while the date of the next meeting is unknown, it will depend on progress in the negotiations.
As we reported, CEO of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev will meet with CEO of Gazprom Alexey Miller during the trilateral gas negotiations in Brussels on October 28.
