A large-scale railway accident occurred near the village of Chornorudka in the Zhytomyr region; the cars have derailed. Due to this, a number of trains are delayed, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reports.

"Passenger trains are delayed due to the derailment of cars in Zhytomyr region," the statement reads.

It is reported that 10 empty freight train cars derailed. Because of this, some passenger trains run late. In particular, train № 764 Odesa - Kyiv will run the changed route through Shepetivka and Korosten, which will cause its delay - approximately 4 hours.

Possible delays will be announced separately.

It is also reported that the dimensions of two tracks were damaged at the accident site. The reasons for the departure of the cars are being investigated.

Note that this is not the first case in recent times when cars derail. Thus, at the beginning of August, a locomotive and the first car of the train № 357 Rakhiv - Kyiv derailed near Ternopil. In July, the train Vasylkiv - Boyarka derailed in Kyiv region.
