Torchlight march on Stepan Bandera's birthday held in frontline Avdiivka

A torchlight procession to honor the birthday of Stepan Bandera on January 1 was held in the frontline Avdiivka, located in close proximity to the occupied Donetsk. This was reported by local media.

March was held by representatives of the Political Parties Svoboda, Right Sector and National Corps. Judging by the photos, the event was attended by about a hundred of people.

Police and military guarded the order during the procession.

According to the information of the Internal Ministry, 57 events in honor of Bandera's birthday were held in 21 regions of Ukraine on Monday. Violations of law and order during them were not recorded.

As it was reported earlier torchlight processions on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera were taking place in Ukraine on January 1.

Stepan Bandera is a Ukrainian politician, ideologist and theorist of the Ukrainian nationalist movement of the 20th century. On the day of his birth on January 1, Ukraine traditionally hosts events commemorating his memory, which end with torchlight processions.
