International tournament in squash "PARETI Squash Open 2016" will be held for the second time on the courts of Sport Life Squash Arena of Teremky on December 13-17, 2016 in Kyiv. The Championship is conducted under the auspices of PSA (Professional Squash Association) and supported by Ukraine Squash Federation.
Among the international stars in Kyiv will come Carlos Kornes Ribadas (second racket of Spain), Peter Reiko (second racket of Switzerland), George Parker (England), Ben Grindrod (New Zealand), Jamie Ayanen (Finland), Ondrej Uherka (Czech Republic) Eloit Selby (England), Robert Dadds (England), Miko Ayanen (Finland). Other squash players of Egypt, Finland, Ukraine, Britain, Germany and other countries will also compete for ranking points and money tournament.
The competitions include five categories of participants: PSA Men (32 athletes), PSA Women (16 people), Elite (32 players), Amateurs Men (64 players), Amateurs Women (48 participants).
According to tournament director Maxim Urakin, the organizers of "PARETI Squash Open 2016" did everything possible to adequately close the squash year in Ukraine. "We hope that the visit and the game in Kyiv of top squash players will raise interest of this still young sport in our country among young people and the media," Urakin said. 200 players will participate in general in PARETI Squash Open 2016 who will play in both professional and amateur categories of the tournament. The organizers believe that the purpose of PARETI Squash Open 2016 is squash and healthy lifestyle popularization in Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the Swiss town of Nyon will host the draw ceremony of the UEFA Europa League’s round if the last 32. Ukraine will be represented by Shakhtar Donetsk.
