Tomos of autocephaly to be placed at Saint Sophia's Cathedral for public viewing

On January 7, the Christmas day, a divine liturgy will take place at Saint Sophia's Cathedral, where Tomos will be demonstrated on the granting of autocephaly to the newly established Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), reports the press office of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

On the feast of Christmas at Saint Sophia's Cathedral, the ancient shrine of the Ukrainian people, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epifaniy will perform the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great. The episcopacy and clergy of the united church will serve His Bliss,’ reads the message. 

It is stated that the service will begin on January 7 at 10 a.m. The President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament, MPs, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ukrainian intelligentsia, chaplains and volunteers will be present.

At the same time, it is emphasized that despite the planned security measures, during such an important event, the entrance to the Saint Sophia's Cathedral and its territory during the liturgy will be restricted. However, all believers will be able to take part in prayer and watch the liturgy from a large screen on St. Sophia Square.
