Three people tried to set fire to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Zaporizhya, reports UNN, citing its own sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to the message, an extraordinary event occurred the day before. Two men and a woman climbed over the wall of the church and, with the help of an improvised torch and inflammable substance, wanted to set fire to the temple premises. However, they did not succeed, because the law enforcement officers arrived at the scene of the incident on time.
On this fact, criminal proceedings are open and an investigation is underway under art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - a terrorist attack.
Policemen suggest that the detainees tried not only to burn the temple, but also to kindle inter-religious enmity.
Since the beginning of February, this is the third attempt to set fire to churches in Zaporizhya. The first one occurred on February 6. On February 11, the attackers again tried to set fire to one of the temples and drew a swastika on its wall.
Earlier the special services of Russia tried to destabilize the religious situation in Ukraine. They offered money to people who could set fire to the church buildings of the Moscow Patriarchate. Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has reported it on Facebook.
The Security Service has managed to establish that the Russian special services are looking for people who can set fire to the church buildings of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP). They offered $ 2,000 for the arson, which they promised to transfer to a card account opened in one of the Ukrainian banks.
The Russian special services promised to send money only after they see the video.
The message says that you need to draw one of the proposed symbols on the building and start shooting so that they can see the moment of fire. Russian special services needed only 10 seconds of video of the temple on fire. They emphasize that this should be only the church of the Moscow Patriarchate, and which one is unimportant.
The customer requires from executor to come to the place with the phone, but without a SIM card. At the same time, they are asked to put the phone in airplane mode so that it does not accidentally connect to Wi-Fi.
Employees of the Ukrainian Security Service claim that the recruitment of people is still ongoing.
