Three cadets of Odesa Military Academy sustained injuries in the result of the blast of the unknown ordnance at the territory of the training center of the academy in Chornomorske as Dumskaya reported citing Head of the Academy Oleh Hulyak.
The incident took place during the field exercise.
The cadets found the unexploded ordnance, which is not deployed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (according to Dumskaya, it was the rocket-propelled grenade made in the U.S., which was left on the field after some exercises).
“They transferred it from the bound closer to the road for further utilization. As they started to come off, the object exploded,” Hulyak said.
The cadets sustained minor shrapnel wounds and they will return to the study on Monday.
The State Investigation Bureau and the military prosecutor’s office hold the check of the incident.
Earlier a 15-year-old teenager was wounded in the leg during the training shooting at the firing range in Dnipropetrovsk region. The criminal proceeding was opened.
