The theft of varenyky (traditional Ukrainian dish also known under Polish name pierogi) from the Ukrainian Catholic Church is under investigation in Canora, Canada, as Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Waschuk wrote on Twitter.

The incident occurred on the night of Jan. 24-25, when some food, including the well-known and loved varenyky, disappeared from the church. Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
