Owner of the building where Tokyo Star hotel is located Vadym Chorny commented on the fire in the hotel. The man stated he was ready to be responsible for the incident in case his guilt would be proved, as Radio Liberty reports.
"The disaster has happened. If any guilt on our part is recorded, we will be fully responsible for the fire and I first of all," he said.
As it was reported earlier, on the night of August 17, a large-scale fire broke out in the Odesa Hotel Tokyo Star, as a result of which 8 people died and 10 more were injured. This was reported by the press office of the State Emergency Service.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the fire on Facebook page.
"Odesa. Tokyo Star. At night, we lost eight lives. Ten people were injured, four of them in critical condition. And this is not due to war and shelling. But because of criminal negligence and ignoring basic fire safety standards, because of neglect of human life. This will be put to an end. Not only the direct culprits of the fire will answer for this. Vadym Chorny, the owner of the so-called hotel, will answer. Personally, I will ensure that the punishment complies with the norms of law and requirements of justice," Zelensky wrote.
