Normandy Format meeting may be held in next weeks, - Macron

President of France Emmanuel Macron stated that the meeting in the Normandy Format relating to the Donbas conflict settlement could be held in the next weeks. He said this during the meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as AFP news agency reports.

Performing after Putin’s congratulations in the summer residence on the South of France, Macron expressed hope that he may reach an agreement with Vladimir Putin about holding a summit in the Normandy Format for the Donbas conflict settlement.

The French state leader also pointed out the “real possibility” for the peacemaking in Ukraine.

We recall that the representatives of the U.S., France, and Germany intended to hold consultations concerning Normandy format, as the U.S. State Department Special Representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker said. They would be related to the escalation of the Donbas conflict.

Zelensky has also met with Kurt Volker on July 26. The President of Ukraine thanked the American side for the consistent support and efforts aimed at achieving peace in Donbas. Besides, the Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the representatives of the USA Administration the current situation in the JFO area.
