In 2014-2015 Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov awarded weapons to the highest representatives of Ukrainian authority and dozens of people's deputies. The list of 400 weapon-holders was published by "Ukrayinska Pravda" citing a source in the Interior Ministry.
In particular, the list of people who received weapons from Avakov include Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Chairwoman of the National Bank Valeriya Hontareva, Minister of Education Liliya Hrynevych, Speaker of Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko and Minister of Ecology Ostap Semerak.
Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman received a whole arsenal from Avakov: a pistol "Fort 17-05", "Jericho 941 FBL", assault rifle "Fort 224", sub-machine gun MP5 K A4.
Pistols "Fort 17-05" were also awarded to the former head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Maidan commandant Stepan Kubiv and ministers Ostap Semerak and Pavlo Petrenko.
The head of the National Bank Valeriya Hontareva was awarded "Fort 9" pistol in October, 2014.
Also, according to the newspaper, the People's Deputy Serhiy Pashynsky got the "Glock 19" pistol on March 28, when he served as the head of the Presidential Administration.
But the former prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk received the most original gift from Avakov. On May 20, 2015 Minister of Internal Affairs awarded him the "Maxim" machine gun. In addition, Yatsenyuk received "Glock 19", "Jericho 941 FBL", assault rifle "Fort 224".
Ihor Kolomoyskyi, the former head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration also got a gift from Avakov - "Fort 9" gun and assault rifle "Fort 221" in February 2015.
