Ten higher education institutions in Ukraine were included in the annual ranking of the best universities in the world, published by the Times Higher Education journal.

Ukrainian universities among the world's institutions are in such positions:

  • Sumy State University – 501-600 place
  • Lviv Polytechnic National University – 601-800 place
  • Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics – 1001–1200 place
  • Oles Honchar Dnipro National University – 1201+ place
  • Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 1201+ place
  • National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute – 1201+ place
  • National Technical University of Ukraine – Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – 1201+ place
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 1201+ place
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University – 1201+ place
  • Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University – 1201+ place

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 include more than 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.

The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

This year’s ranking analysed more than 108 million citations across over 14.4 million research publications and included survey responses from almost 22,000 scholars globally. Overall, we collected over 430,000 datapoints from more than 2,100 institutions that submitted data.
