Air temperatures in Kyiv are record high in the last 75 years. This was reported on Facebook by the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky.

“According to the observations of the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky, the average daily air temperature in Kyiv was +27.0 °C on June 23. The thermometer repeated the record temperature for that day in 1954,” the statement informed.

In addition, the maximum afternoon temperature in the capital rose to +33.7 °C, exceeding the previous record for this day in 1946 by 0.6 °C.

As it was reported earlier, on Thursday, June 24, thunderstorms are forecast in the western and southern regions. No precipitation is expected in Kyiv on this day. The temperature will be +32 ... + 34 °C in the daytime, and +20 ... + 22 °C at night.

Earlier, scientists stated that Ukraine was passing into the zone of ultra-high temperatures and extreme weather. In the next 30-40 years, Ukraine could face the threat of desertification of immense territory.
