Tax for Google: Zelensky signs law on taxation of e-services of non-residents

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed so-called law on “tax on Google”, according to which the foreign internet companies will pay taxes in Ukraine as the President’s Office reported.

“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law “On amendment of the Tax Code of Ukraine toward the abolition of the taxation of income received by non-residents in the form of payment for production and/or spread of advertising and improvement of the order of taxation by value-added tax for operations on the supply by the non-residents of the e-services to private persons” #1525-IX that was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on June 3,” the message said.

It is specified that the document defined a special procedure of taxation for value-added tax for operations of companies-non-residents on the supply of e-services to the citizens who live in Ukraine.

It is noted that foreign companies that supply e-services to Ukrainians will be obliged to register as taxpayers on the simplified procedure through a special app if the total sum of operation surpasses a million hryvnias ($36.574) per year. Non-residents will fill simplified accounting in e-form at the state or English language.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading bill #4184, which is aimed to oblige Internet giants to pay taxes in Ukraine.
