Sweden and Lithuania called to bring to justice to the murderers of journalist Arkadiy Babchenko. Ambassadors of these countries, Margot Wallström and Linas Linkevičius, expressed their condolences in connection with the death of the journalist and posted relevant statements on Twitter.

“One more voice has been silenced. Horrified by murder of Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko in Kyiv - only the latest among oppositional journalists who have been killed in RU and abroad. Important that the responsible are brought to justice. My thoughts are with his family,” she wrote.

At the same time Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Babchenko.

“Shocked to learn about the killing of Russian oposition journalist Arkady Babchenko in Kyiv tonight. Deepest condolences to his family and friends. Those responsible for this brutal crime must be brought to justice,” the message says.

As is known, Russian reporter Arkadiy Babchenko was shot dead in Kyiv. Ayder Muzhdabayev, the deputy CEO of ATR TV channel, posted this on Facebook. 'They shot Arkadiy in his back, at his own place', he wrote. The critically wounded man passed away in the ambulance.  According to the police, the message came in from Babchenko's wife who found him lying on the floor with the gunshot wound to his back. The operatives and forensics arrived on the crime scene; the investigation is underway.
