A group of international observers from Sweden, Czech Republic, and Spain is to hold an observation flight over Ukraine this week, as the press service of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs.
According to the Verification Deparment of the General Staff, the observers have already arrived in Boryspil Airport in SAAB 340 (OS100) Swedish airplane. The group comprises 15 pilots: nine from Sweden, and three from Czech Republic and Spain each.
“The aim of the activity is to hold observation flight over Ukraine’s territory in order to increase openness and transparency, and assist in observing the implementation of current agreements on arms control. The materials obtained during the flight will be processed in Sweden. The observing mission is to work in Ukraine until September 8,” the Ukrainian side informs.
The flight is to be held based on the agreements on arms control, and the decision of the Open Skies Consultative Commission (OSCC).
As it was reported earlier, the US and Ukraine are to hold an observation flight over Belarus and Russia.
