Officials of Trade Commodity, who are suspected of embezzling almost $5.7 million on selling petrol to the Ministry of Defence, ran away, as the Ukrainian News report with a link to their sources in the law enforcement.

According to the source, the suspects managed to get away before the special operation of anti-corruption officers on illicit misappropriation of the state money took place. The source didn’t exclude the idea that the Trade Commodity officials were warned about the preparations on arrests in advance.

“Unfortunately, they got away,” the source said.

As it was reported earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution (SAP) exposed a corruption scheme on misappropriating almost $5.7 million on purchasing petrol for the Ministry of Defence.
