Suspect in murder of Donbas conflict veteran arrested for two months

Suspect is potentially facing up to 15 years in prison

Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv has chosen restrictive measure in the form of two months of arrest without bail right for Anatoly Chivikov, who is suspected in killing of Serhiy Oliynyk, the seasoned fighter of Donbas conflict, in the center of Kyiv. This was reported by TSN.

"He was trying to hide the evidence and run away. Prosecutors asked two months without bail right. Court has supported their request," speaker of Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office Nadiya Maksymets commented on the verdict. Suspect may face up to 15 years of imprisonment.

Farewell ceremony to volunteer Serhiy Oliynyk will take place in Ukrainian House on Sunday, he will be buried at Berkovetske Cemetery in Kyiv.
