Suspect in the organization of the attack on Kherson public activist Kateryna Handziuk, Ihor Pavlovsky stated at the court that the mastermind of her murder is Head of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger as the activists of ‘Who ordered Katia Handziuk?’ community reported on Facebook.
According to the results of the court session in Odesa, the next facts were announced:
- Pavlovsky confirmed the guilt of Vladyslav Manger in the ordering of murder of Kateryna Handziuk. He reported that during the communication with Olexiy Levin, he numerously stated that ‘Mykolayovych’ ordered the attack on Handziuk. In August 2018, when suspect Mykola Novikov was arrested, during one of the talks with Levin, Pavlovsky found out that ‘Mykolayovych’ is Manger.
- Pavlovsky stated that he and his daughter received threats from Vladyslav Manger many times. That is why on December 17, 2019, he provided false testimony to the court about the non-involvement of Manger and Levin in the murder of Handziuk.
- The family of Kateryna Handziuk was involved in the court process in Odesa as victims.
The next session on this case will take place on October 16 at 09:30 a.m. at Prymorsky district court of Odesa.
As we reported earlier, on November 4, 2018, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
Besides, the doctors specified the cause of death; it was due to multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
Currently, Olexiy Levin, Head of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger and ex-assistant of MP Ihor Pavlovsky are the persons of interest in the case. Ihor Pavlovsky was detained on January 20, 2020.
Vladyslav Manger and Olexiy Levin are suspected in the organization of the serious physical injury by prior agreement of the group of people that led to the death of a person. They face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
