Sumy region will move to the red zone of adaptive quarantine on October 23. The corresponding decision was made by the State commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies, minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov reports in Telegram.
"The State Commission decided: starting on midnight of October 23, 2021, the red level of epidemic danger of Covid-19 spread is established in the Sumy region, and restrictive anti-epidemic measures provided for the red level of epidemic danger will be applied in the Sumy region," he wrote.
As it was reported earlier, on October 19, Ukrainian medics registered 18,912 new cases of Covid-19. 5,468 people were taken to hospitals, 495 passed away and 7,605 patients recovered from the disease.
As of October 18, five regions of Ukraine are in the red quarantine zone. These are Kherson, Zaporizhia, Odessa, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions and in Lviv. Kyiv School of Economics has stated that Zhytomyr, Luhansk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions are under the threat of entering the red zone as well.
