Studio Kvartal-95 performed a free concert with the participation of a presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This might be a sign of indirect payoff of voters, as the candidates do not have a right to provide goods and services for Ukrainians for free during the campaign as "Opora" reported.
On February 9, there was a free concert before a commercial one in Zakarpattia Region Music and Drama Theatre.
In particular, it was noted that ATO (Anti-terrorist operation, - ed.) participants and their relatives were invited to the free concert in advance. The volunteer who works with the servicemen said she received 100 invitations to the concert.
One of the visitors noted that invitations could be received on mail. According to her, one had to send a request, and then the organizers distributed the invitations. The drama theatre in Uzhgorod could not accommodate the number of those who wanted to see the concert.
“Signs of violation of the regulations of the election campaign by the presidential candidate Zelenskiy might be noticed in the organization of a free concert. The candidate is prohibited from providing the citizens with goods and services for free and mention his name in this. This means, that here we have signs of an indirect payoff of voters. It should be noted that the candidate de-facto uses his work as a resource, and even if it’s not a direct agitation, this helps to increase his fame,” Yaroslav Gulan, the election coordinator at “Opora” in Zakarpattia region, explained.
