Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroyid claimed about the necessity to investigate the incident with deputy Serhiy Pashynsky, however, according to her, it is hampered by parliamentary immunity. Syroid said this on air of "112 Ukraine" TV channel.

"Law enforcement agencies must investigate this case. Unfortunately, the parliamentary immunity does not allow it. The law enforcement agencies have to figure out whether such form of defense was necessary. If not, the person behind this mess should be held criminally responsible. Therefore, the parliamentary immunity should be the topic number one (in the Verkhovna Rada - Ed.)," Vice-Speaker said.

As it was reported earlier, MP from the "People's Front" party Serhiy Pashynsky informed about the attack on him on New Year's Eve, the deputy shot the attacker in the leg.
