State Investigation Bureau searches Ukraine’s Federation of Trade Unions

The State Investigation Bureau (SIB) holds searches and confiscation of official records at the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTU) at the Trade Unions Building as the federation reported.

“It is unknown yet what goal do the SIB employees have as they have to deal with the state crimes through holding searches at the largest human rights public organization of Ukraine? How the decisions made by the FTU on the eve can influence the state security?,” the message says.

Meanwhile, FTU Spokesperson Yuriy Robota told to Suspilne that the searches are held at the office of the Federation Head Hryhoriy Osovy and his deputies.

“They finished the searches of the office of the Federation Head Hryhoriy Osovy; they did not find anything; any charges served and they continued to search deputies,” Robota said.

According to him, the searches are held at the chief and property departments. He added that in a few days before the gathering, the investigator of the Chief Department of the National Police appealed to the Federation with the request to provide personal data of delegates of the gathering.

The SIB did not comment on the searches.

Earlier, Kyiv City State Administration stated that recently 70 searches were held at the structures of the administration. However, 53 of them are not tied with the utility companies and departments.
