Yury Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine thinks that the State Bureau of Investigation will begin its work at the end of 2018. He claimed this at the briefing broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

'The State Bureau of Investigation will begin its work at the end of the next year. It is an important step forward', he said.

According to Lutsenko, the draft law that can fasten the beginning of the Bureau's work is discussed in the Verkhovna Rada.

'The draft law that can fasten the beginning of the Bureau's work is discussed in the Verkhovna Rada and the recently appointed heads of the bureau selected new personnel through the contests, competitions and lie detector. It can reduce the time needed for the creation of the institution from one year to seven-eight months', he noted.

Roman Truba was appointed as the Head of the State Bureau of Investigation.

The State Bureau of Investigation is the central body of the executive power that will carry the law enforcement activity to prevent, determine, suppress, solve and investigate the crimes under its authority.
