Director of State Bureau of Investigation Roman Truba claimed an attempt to capture the building of the bureau, as his statement reads.
According to him, a respective reaction should follow after the capture of State Bureau of Investigation building which was organized to influence the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding where Ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is involved.
“From the first day, since I have been appointed, I was always asked: when the State Bureau of Investigation will have high-profile cases? So, “high-profile” cases, though I don’t like this word, demand a political culture of a high level. Today, a rally took place near the State Bureau of Investigation. The participants have gone beyond the legal framework – they broke into the room of the law enforcement agency hiding behind mandates; blocked the entrance and exit of the building; disrupted meeting with European international partners on development and enhancement of State Bureau of Investigation; demanded “immediate results of the investigation” or its cancellation,” Truba stated.
He regards it as political pressure and interference in the work of the law enforcement agency.
Truba also reported that the case against Poroshenko is one of the most important ones for the State Bureau of Investigation.
He noted that leak occurred during the pre-trial investigation, and an internal investigation was launched.
