Starting price for 4G license in Ukraine is estimated as 2,4 mil. USD, informs head of National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCR) Oleksandr Zhvotovskyi.
"The starting price for a license will be 2,4 mil. USD, 90 mil. for 2600 MHz frequency and 150 mil. for 1800 MHz frequency," he told.
According to Zhyvotovskyi, all Ukraine's Radio-Frequency Resources are diveded among various telephone companies and there isn't a free one. Thus telephone companies need to cooperate to introduce 4G. "We have 5 ranges, where 4G can be introduced," he remarked.
Zhyvotovskyi added that the operating telephone company confirmed their ability to transmit frequency ranged 2300 MHZ to 2600 MHz.
"The price for licenses must be reasonable. And the only way to justify the price is to sell it through a public tender. Such a sale will stimulate consequent investment into Ukraine, and telephone companies, which will buy 4G licenses, must continue investing into infrastructure's development," - he added.
As we reported earlier, Oleksandr Danchenko, the Head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on informatization and intercommunications, announced that the actions by the General Prosecutor Office and the MP Boryslav Bereza block introducing 4G in Ukraine.
