The work of Stanytsia Luhanska will be restored on Saturday, September 8. The press office of the Joint Forces reported this on Facebook.
'Today, on September 8, at 12 p.m., after the holding of the main reconstruction works, by the decision of the Commander of the Joint Forces, Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit checkpoint restores its operation, and remains the sole road corridor in Luhansk region,' reads the message.
JFO also recalled that the work of absolutely ready Zolote entry-exit checkpoint is being blocked for the third consecutive year by the illegal armed formations.
It is noted that the number of workstations for documents verification and the personnel of unit is increased in the Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit checkpoint.
Earlier, Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit checkpoint was designed for the crossing of six thousand people monthly. The real daily average of people who crossed the contact line through this road corridor was 10-12 thousand.
Owing to the increase of workplaces up to 40, it is planned to provide a comfy crossing of the demarcation line by such a number of people. Also, the checkpoint is equipped with video surveillance cameras.
'Currently, the road surface in the checkpoint has been completely replaced, shelters, shelter-sheds for people crossing the demarcation line, new modules for passport and fiscal control have been installed. The work on the summing up of communications and additional amenities for the citizens is completing,' JFO noted.
