In the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found shelters of sabotage groups. Press service of the SBU, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that on Thursday.
“The SBU found three caches of weapons in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. 1 kg of plastid with explosive fuse, 13 anti-tank mines with detonators and almost 4,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were seized from the caches," the statement reads.
The special services said that two caches were found near Lysychansk, Luhansk region. The law enforcers found 125 grenade launchers of various modifications, 10 RKG-3 and F-1 grenades; 2,600 rounds of ammunition, including fthese or large-caliber weapons were found in an abandoned garage. Police seized more than 180 artillery shells from another hiding place near the pumping station near the town.
The third shelter was found in Mariupol, Donetsk region. 3,963 cartridges of various calibers were found in the bed of Kalchyk river.
According to operative data, the hiding places were set up by members of illegal armed groups of the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples Republics to carry out sabotages in the region.
“According to the SBU, urgent investigative and operational actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the illegal activity and the persons involved in it," the SBU stressed.
As it was reported earlier, on September 1, Ukrainian law enforcers found an arms cache left behind by a militant of the self-styled "Donetsk People's Republic".
