In 2017, the crime rate in Kyiv has decreased. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv police Andriy Kryshchenko in the report before the deputies of the Kyiv City Council, the National Police press service said.
"The crime rate per 10,000 of the population in Kyiv is 234 criminal offenses, whereas in the past the number was 253. This indicator decreased for the first time since 2012," - said Kryshchenko.
He added that traditionally most of all crimes are property crimes, in particular thefts, more than 32,000 of which were registered.
As it was reported earlier the ICC, International Criminal Court in the Hague claimed that the warring sides committed over 1,200 crimes in the war-torn Donbas. This was mentioned in the annual report on the hostilities in Ukraine, recently released by the court.
Prosecutor’s office still looks into claims that Russia has been controlling the armed militants. If the hostilities are considered an international conflict, the ICC may investigate these crimes.
