Snow covered several cities in south Ukraine on Christmas - for the first time this much this winter. It was reported that traffic was restricted on highways due to the snowstorm in Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions.

Heavy snow was observed in the early morning on January 7 in Mykolaiv. The weather in the city is frosty, a little wind is blowing, as Svidok informed.
Snow also covered Kherson bringing holiday mood to the city downtown.
The situation is quite difficult in the southern Kherson region, in the area of Henichesk. Traffic is partially limited.

Residents of Melitopol (Zaporizhia region) have traditionally gathered near Pischanska beam to admire the views of the city covered with snow, as RIA Melitopol reported.
Snow falls for several days now in Mariupol. The weather became genuinely wintery since January 4, so the local utility services had a lot of work. They are now working in an enhanced regime, as the press office of the City Council reported.
Annexed Crimea resident saw snow on these holidays as well. For instance, snow started falling in Simferopol on January 6. The height of the snow cover exceeded five centimeters.
According to the meteorologists, snowy weather will stay in the southern and eastern regions on Ukraine for more couple of days. Low temperature will prevail.
