40% of Ukrainians support idea to provide occupied Donbas with special status, - survey

Some 40% of Ukrainians support the idea to provide uncontrolled districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with a special status which implies autonomy as a part of Ukraine, as the results of the survey conducted by Ukraine’s Institute of Social Research of Oleksandr Yaremenko and “Social monitoring “Ukraine today: Challenges and prospects” show.

37% of the respondents believe that ORDLO (Separate Districts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, - ed.) should have autonomy as a part of Ukraine. 17,3% think that it should be officially recognized that these territories can not be returned to Ukraine. 18,2% of Ukrainians consider it necessary to continue battle actions in Donbas directed at restoration of complete control over these territories.

The survey was conducted on June 13-19, 2019 in the form of a personal interview at the place of residence of the respondent. 3000 people over 18 years old were asked. Standard deviation makes +/- 1,8%.
