Self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic ready for prisoner swap with Ukraine

The so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) expressed its readiness for the prisoners’ exchange with the Ukrainian side in 50 for 88 format, as RT reported citing DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova.

“We identified 88 people in the territory of Ukraine; we have additional requests to the Ukrainian side; they still process them. we confirmed 50 people for the Ukrainian side and we completely ready for exchange,” Morozova said.

Besides, according to DPR ombudsman, on September 18, during Minsk talks, the lists of the prisoners were checked and the Ukrainian side positively reacted to the offered mechanism on the stop of the prosecution of people after the exchange.

 Earlier, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko reported that the negotiations between Ukraine and Russian on prisoner swap are progressing very actively.

Besides, Prystaiko commented on the possible prisoners’ exchange between Ukraine and Russia on all for all format and underlined that the return of the Ukrainian prisoners is planned soon.

Moreover, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he hopes for holding of a meeting of Normandy Format soon. He also hopes that the issue of release of all detainees and setting the date of disengagement of forces in Donbas.
